+++POS:I rode one recently and SUPER impressed with it(me, over 200 road races under my belt-way back when-turned my first million miles in my 40’s).
The clutch is the litest I have ever experienced(great!),450SSs is so lite weight(flickable),the front brakes stopped me faster than anything I’ve ever been on,the display is easy to read & changeable(large,colorful,adjustable )and the **price**!!!!
The CFMoto 450SS is stable,smooth(no vibes),is easy to hit your line and stay on it & this bike will haul butt folks,try one.
-neg: At 6′ 175 LBS my privates were super uncomfortable(maybe I can washer(s) adjust the seat incline-pegs-take a hammer to the tank!)…my knees were not that bad.
This bike is gonna change the grassroot sportbike world.
At 60+, I’m having thoughts of suiting up and doing track days at least.
Does WERA / AMA have a 60+ class :).

In reply to DavidD. Hi David, thanks for your questions. I didn't reach top speed on my test ride, so I can't answer that for you. However, I can say that the 450SS is quite happy at 80 mph and above on the freeway and felt like it had more to give. My average mpg was 62.8, with some tanks up in the 70s and some in the 50s. Surprised it says 370 lbs wet! That sounds pretty good! Would love to know what mpg you averaged? Also was it happy at 75-80 mph on the freeway? Wonder what the top speed is, as it’s no fun to go 80 on a bike that tops out at 90. I’m sure it’s quite fun. I’d love a bike like this for commute and to beat on, next to my S1000RR!

In reply to Randy. You do realize, of course, that Hondas are made in either Japan or Thailand. Motorcycle production at Honda's Marysville, Ohio, plant ended in 2009.

Sounds like decent value-for-money but I’m not too keen on sending the Chinese my money, honestly. Ideally, some American company would produce something like this, built here, so I’d feel good about buying one. For now, I’ll stick with a Honda.

I think the Honda cb500r would be a close competitor – similar dispacement, HP and torque.

I was looking at few CFMotos at a local dealer. Noticed a few decals that were poorly applied. Bikes looked to be pretty solid. I will wait for relations between the US and China to improve before purchasing one however…

In reply to Thomas Sellick. They are comparatively very heavy which does a lot to offset the optimistically claimed horsepower output. But yes, the Chinese have come a long way.
